Sales invoices are outgoing invoices. They are the final step in the outgoing business cycle.
The Sales Document Types in the system standard are listed below.
SSL - Sales Invoice
RPC - Purchase Return Invoice
SPI - Debit Note
SPR - Debit Note (Cost Reduction)
Sales Invoice
A sales invoice is a request for payment to a customer for goods sold or services provided by the seller.
Purchase Return Invoice
For Purchase Returns, a Purchase Return Invoice is issued to identify the purchased goods or materials returned to the vendor.
Debt Note
If the price on the incoming invoice (purchase invoice) is higher than the previously agreed price, a debit note reflecting the price difference is sent by the buyer.
If the price on a purchase invoice is higher than it should be, you, as the customer, issue a sales invoice-price difference to your supplier.
The invoice will result in a debit to accounts payable (your supplier).
Debit Note (Cost Reduction)
After the normal purchasing process, if for any reason the seller and the customer agree on a price lower than the price on the purchase invoice, a debit invoice should be recorded reflecting the price difference. This discount is called a debit note (cost reduction) because it reduces the cost.
